Twitter - What are you doing right now???

After Twitter was launched in 2006 created as a social networking tool and way to inform the world what you are doing right now, it has now expanded as a use for advertising. It is hard to believe that with only 140 characters, companies are choosing to advertise their company in this way. Twitter today is seen as the "SMS" of the internet and has many loyal users that use the site daily.

Over the years, software and plug-ins have been developed to enable users to do more with Twitter; and many have been thinking of ways to profit from Twitter. Because Twitter allows you to communicate with people all over the world, people are asking the question how do you advertise to the crowd?

There are many advertising options that are available for Twitter, some of which are:

1. RevTwt - This service offers CPC (cost per click) ads, CPT (cost per thousand), which you must have a specific number of followers for, or CPA (viewers must perform a specific action). RevTwt gives you the links and you paste them into your Twitter timeline.

2. Adf.ly: http://Adf.ly

A link shortening service with a twist. Shorten the URL, then post it to Twitter, Facebook, or other social networks, and you’ll earn money with every click. The current payout for those in the U.S. is about $1.00 per thousand visitors.

3) Adjix: http://www.Adjix.com

Another link shortening service with an advertising twist built in. Twitter users can choose to embed ads inside their tweets. Advertisers set the rate they are willing to pay for someone to tweet their ad. Ad selection varies from a random ad to allowing you to target a specific subject area, for example health.
